For Zendaya, with great romance comes the responsibility to protect it.
The Spider-Man star—who has kept the details of her relationship with Tom Holland largely private over the years—recently opened up about remaining protective of her personal life as a public figure.
"Parts of my life, I accept, are going to be public," Zendaya told Elle in an article published Aug. 23. "I can't not be a person and live my life and love the person I love. But also, I do have control over what I choose to share."
As the Euphoria star—whose romance with her costar became public in 2021—noted, "It's about protecting the peace and letting things be your own but also not being afraid to exist. You can't hide. That's not fun, either. I am navigating it more than ever now."
The 26-year-old's comments about her romance echo that of what Tom, 27, shared previously, noting that the couple want to keep their relationship as "sacred as possible."
"We don't think that we owe it to anyone," he told The Hollywood Reporter in June. "It's our thing, and it has nothing to do with our careers."
But that's not to say he doesn't gush over the impact Zendaya has made on him professionally, too.
"She's wonderful to work with," the Uncharted actor, who will soon reunite with his IRL love onscreen for a fourth Marvel film, told the outlet in a video accompanying his interview. "She's arguably the most talented person I've ever met. She's amazing."
